5,000 Microlinos – a Special Milestone in Turin
What started as an ambitious idea in 2016 has reached a special milestone in Turin: the 5,000th Microlino has rolled off the production line.
And number 5,000 is anything but ordinary. Instead of a standard production model, this milestone is marked by a one-of-a-kind Microlino – finished in matte bronze metallic, with black design accents and the owner's initials integrated directly into the seats.
A Microlino that represents more than just a production number. It also shows how far our vision has come over the past years.
From a Plan for 500 Vehicles to Number 5,000
When we first presented the Microlino to the public in 2016, our initial plan was relatively modest: if at least 500 people placed a reservation, we would build a small production series.
Today, the 5,000th Microlino stands at our production facility near Turin – ten times that original vision.

Behind that number are years of development, challenges and continuous improvement. Most importantly, it represents thousands of Microlinos that are now out on European roads.
Why Number 5,000 Is Truly One of a Kind
It feels fitting that the 5,000th Microlino is a fully customised vehicle.
At the AMFI production facility near Turin, modern industrial production meets craftsmanship. A dedicated atelier makes it possible to create individual vehicles directly on site – from unique colours and materials to highly personal details.
Since the Custom Program was introduced around a year ago, more than 200 individual Microlinos have already been created.
Number 5,000 therefore represents not only how far production has come, but also the flexibility that has become possible along the way.
Made in Italy – Part of the Microlino DNA
The Microlino was developed in Switzerland and is produced in La Loggia near Turin – at the heart of a region with decades of automotive heritage.
Since the end of 2022, Microlinos have been manufactured by AMFI, the Automotive Micro Factory Italy. The facility was designed specifically for light electric mobility, combining industrial manufacturing with the flexibility of a micro factory.
Standard production vehicles and handcrafted special editions can be built on the same production line while maintaining the same quality standards.

More Than a Production Milestone
For us, reaching 5,000 vehicles represents more than growth. It shows that a different approach to mobility has found its place.
The Microlino was created around a simple question: how much car do we really need for our everyday journeys?
The result is a fully electric light vehicle with a compact footprint, iconic front door and a range of up to 228 kilometres – designed for mobility that requires less space, material and energy.
5,000 vehicles later, that idea is firmly on the road.
And the Journey Continues
Production in Turin is evolving as well. Following the successful ramp-up of the Microlino, AMFI is increasingly opening its platform to further projects in light electric mobility.
From 2027, microcars for corporate fleets of Portuguese provider BE Neutral are also set to be assembled in Turin, gradually positioning AMFI as an open European production platform for compact and efficient electric mobility.
For us, however, number 5,000 remains a very special moment. From the original idea of producing 500 vehicles to 5,000 Microlinos leaving the factory, it has been quite a journey.
And there is much more to come.
